2: Set a Timer
If you really want to speed things up, consider working against the clock. Before you get started, set an alarm on your phone or bathroom alarm clock, so that you can track and control your cleaning time-frame. If you have a friend or family member helping you clean, see who can get more done within the same time-frame. For example, you might set the clock for 10 minutes, and then race to finish folding piles of laundry.
In addition to making things a little more enjoyable, timers might also help you to identify time-wasting habits. For example, if your alarm goes off when you are checking your social media account, you might decide to put your phone away for the next job.
3: Group Tasks Together
Once you get into the cleaning groove, it can be hard to switch from task to task. To speed things up and to keep you focused, try to group tasks together. For example, clean all of the floors in your house together, instead of vacuuming each room separately. This tactic might also help you to avoid doing jobs out of order and making a mess of previously cleaned areas. For example, if you clean all of the counters in your house long before you do all of the floors, you won't have to worry about accidentally wiping food crumbs or paper scraps onto your freshly swept tile floor.
