If you spill something red on your carpet, you want to make sure you follow the steps detailed in this article so you can successfully remove that red mark from your carpet.
If you spill a red drink
If you spill a red drink on your caret, such as fruit punch or wine, you need to act very fast. The longer you allow the liquid to sit on the carpet, the further down into the carpet it will go, making it more difficult to remove.
Take a clean rag and blot up all the liquid you can. After you have blotted up as much as possible, you want to make a cleansing mixture. You can mix a quarter cup of white vinegar in a cup of warm water and add a few drops of clear dish soap. Pour some of the mixture on the spill. You want to get it pretty wet without over soaking it. Continue to blot the stain again until it is dry.
If you spill red food
If you spill red food on your carpet, such as pasta sauce or enchilada sauce, you need to get up as much as the thickness from the carpet as you can before you start to work on the stain itself. You can use a butter knife or a spatula to scoop up the sauce.
Once you get up as much of the thickness as possible, you can follow the same procedure detailed above for red liquid.
